A Note From Allie About Questions
I wanted to tell you a little bit about how I chose questions to be answered, how fast they get answered and what types of questions will not be answered.
When I read a question I know needs to be answered, I will often sit back and think about what the answer should be. I am not a computer program that is able to generate answers as soon as they are asked and I am the only one who reads and answers the question. There are websites out there where a lot of questions are asked and answered almost immediately because there is a team of people answering the questions. I promise to try to answer your questions in a timely manner-usually within 24 to 48 hours.
This website is specifically for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning (GLBTQ) teens who have questions about relationships. If I get questions from adults, I will often not answer them. Mostly because it does not fit the mission of AskAllie.org. If I feel that the question is universal or the adult is a young adult (18-24), I will answer it. When it comes to opposite gender couples, I will answer many of the questions but some I will not if I feel they are a repeat of a question I have already answered or if I feel the site is being bogged down with questions from heterosexual allies. I am VERY happy to have so many allies writing in though. It makes me feel great!
Finally, I will not answer questions that are mean-spirited, racist, or overly sexualized.
I hope this clears up any questions you may have about the website.
Keep the questions coming!!
